FAQ's
What fabrics do you print on?
We print on a curated range of natural and natural-blend fabrics, including linen, cotton and textured blends. We've chosen our fabric range carefully, prioritising quality and how well each one holds colour and detail in print. If you have a specific fabric in mind, get in touch and we'll let you know whether it's something we can work with.
Can you create a custom design for me?
Absolutely. Whether you come to us with a detailed brief or just a feeling you want to capture, we'll work with you to create something made specifically for your space, your brand or your vision.
For lodges and curio shops this is particularly valuable. Whether you're looking for a signature textile that carries your lodge's identity, a branded product range for your gift shop, or a fabric that captures something specific about your corner of Namibia, we design it from scratch and print it here, locally.
Interior designers and homeowners with a specific idea in mind are just as welcome. If you can describe the feeling you're after, we can design toward it.
Can you resize or scale a pattern?
Yes. Most designs in our range can be scaled up or down to suit your project. If you want larger repeat elements for a bolder effect, or a finer repeat for something more delicate, we can adjust it before printing. Vector-based designs offer the most flexibility and can be resized without any loss of quality. Raster files can also be edited in most cases, though very large panel or mural designs may have some limitations depending on the original file size. Just mention your preferred scale when you enquire and we'll let you know what's possible.
Can I supply my own design for printing?
Yes. If you have an existing design or artwork file ready to go, we can print it on fabric or wallcovering We'll review the file before printing to make sure it's set up correctly for the chosen substrate and let you know if anything needs adjusting. Not every file is suitable for large format textile or wallcovering printing, and we'd rather flag that early than print something that doesn't do your design justice. If there are issues with the file, we'll let you know what we find and discuss the best way forward from there.
What file format should I supply?
For the best results, artwork should be supplied as a high-resolution file, ideally a vector file (EPS or SVG) or a high-resolution raster file (300dpi or higher at print size). If you're unsure whether your file is print-ready, send it through and we'll take a look before committing to anything.
Do you print wallcovering as well as fabric?
Yes. We print on fabric-based wallcovering as well as fabrics, using the same design-led approach. Whether you need a single feature wall or a full interior specification, get in touch to discuss what you have in mind.
What makes your wallcovering different from standard wallpaper?
Our wallcovering is printed on a luxury fabric-based substrate rather than standard paper. This makes a noticeable difference in both feel and finish: it's more durable, has a natural texture to it, and sits on a wall with a depth and quality that paper simply can't match. We also offer textured options for an even more considered finish. It is priced slightly higher than paper-based wallpaper, but the difference in quality is something you see and feel immediately.
How does wallcovering installation work?
Installation is included in your wallcovering order and arranged by us. We work with experienced installers who are familiar with fabric-based wallcovering and its specific requirements, so you can be confident the finished result will look exactly as intended.
For installations outside of Windhoek, a travel fee is charged per kilometre in addition to the standard installation cost. This will be confirmed and included in your quote upfront.
How do I measure my wall for wallcovering?
Measure the highest point of your wall, excluding skirting boards and ceiling moulding, and the full width from edge to edge. Include any doors and windows in that width rather than trying to work around them. Send us those measurements and we'll take it from there. A detailed measurement guide will be provided once your order is confirmed.
Can I supply my own fabric for printing?
Unfortunately not. Fabric printing at this level requires a specially coated substrate to ensure the ink bonds correctly and the colour holds over time. The coating process is technical and has to be done under controlled conditions, so we source and prepare all our fabrics ourselves through our suppliers. This is also part of how we maintain consistent quality across every order.
If you have a specific fabric type or weight in mind, get in touch and we'll do our best to find the closest match within our range.
Do you have a minimum order quantity?
No. We don't require a minimum order, so you can print as little or as much as you need. That said, every order does carry a once-off setup fee, which means the cost per meter is naturally higher on smaller runs. If you're comparing options, it's worth knowing that larger runs bring that per-meter cost down significantly. We're happy to give you a quote so you can weigh it up properly.
Can you produce finished products, not just printed fabric by the meter?
We offer a retail range of finished textile products including tablecloths, tea towels, baby blankets and scarves. For custom finished products, such as a bespoke range for a lodge or retail store, this is something we're developing as part of our offering. Reach out and let's talk about what you need.
How do I care for my printed fabric?
Care depends on the fabric type, and we'll include specific washing and care instructions with every order. As a general rule, printed natural fabrics like linen and cotton do best with a gentle, cool wash and should be kept away from harsh detergents that can dull the print over time. If you have questions about a specific product before ordering, just ask and we'll advise you properly.
How long does an order take?
Turnaround time depends on the size and complexity of your order. We'll give you a clear timeline when we confirm your quote, so you can plan accordingly. If you're working to a specific deadline, let us know upfront and we'll do our best to accommodate it.
Where are you based and do you ship?
We're based in Windhoek, Namibia. Local collection and delivery within Windhoek is available, and we can arrange shipping for orders further afield. Shipping costs and timelines will be confirmed as part of your quote.
Do you have a physical store?
We don't have a retail storefront. Estetika operates as a studio, so if you'd like to view fabric samples or discuss a project in person, we're happy to arrange that by appointment.
How do I get started?
The easiest way is to get in touch via our contact page or email. Tell us what you're looking for, including fabric type, estimated quantity and any design requirements, and we'll come back to you with a quote and next steps.
